What is Individual Therapy?

Individual therapy focuses on helping a client work through personal issues that can range from everyday challenges to complex psychological disorders. At CalmInsight Psychotherapy and Assessment Services, our personalized approach focuses on understanding each client’s unique background, experiences, and current needs, fostering an environment that supports insight and growth.

How Individual Therapy Works

  • Initial Consultation: The therapy process begins with a comprehensive intake assessment, where we gather information about the client’s psychosocial history, current problems, and therapeutic goals. Our approach encompasses an accurate understanding of the diverse cultural backgrounds and experiences of our clients.
  • Development of a Customized Treatment Plan: Based on the initial consultation, a tailored treatment plan is created to work toward the client’s goals. This plan may incorporate various therapeutic modalities, such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), or Emotion-Focused Therapy. We strive to support the whole person within their socio-cultural context.
  • Regular Therapy Sessions: Clients engage in regular therapy sessions where they explore their thoughts, feelings, and behaviours, and work toward their goals. These therapy sessions are conducted in a safe therapeutic space where clients can openly discuss and address their concerns.
