WSIB Community Mental Health Program (CMHP)

What is the WSIB Community Mental Health Program (CMHP)?
This psychological service is a structured, evidence-based, and outcome-focused treatment approach aimed at helping a client resolve psychological reactions, such as traumatic stress, to injuries or workplace incidents.
How does the WSIB Community Mental Health Program (CMHP) Work?
- The process begins with an intake and pre-authorization to determine eligibility for WSIB CMHP.
- A structured clinical interview is conducted to assess the nature and severity of psychological distress and its impact on the client’s personal and occupational functioning. Evidence-based tests and measures are administered.
- A relevant treatment plan is developed to help return the client to their pre-injury level and restore occupational functioning. Three treatment blocks are provided at the onset. A treatment block includes six sessions to be completed over a period of eight weeks.
